What is CBD

CBD is short for cannabidiol, an abundant chemical in the cannabis plant. Unlike its more famous cannabinoid cousin, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD does not get you high. It has various medicinal benefits, and it is being tested on a large scale as a solution to many ailments.

Is CBD legal?

Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD products derived from hemp are legal, as long as they meet contain less than 0.3% THC when measured in a lab. Our product meets this requirement, therefore qiwis are legal in almost all states! The only states that prohibit the sale of CBD are as follows: Idaho, Iowa, and South Dakota. We will not be able to ship to these states.

What are the current expected medicinal benefits from CBD?

CBD has been suspected to provide relief to individuals who suffer from anxiety, stress, and insomnia.

How does CBD work in the body?

All cannabinoids, including CBD, produce effects in the body by attaching to certain receptors.

The human body produces certain cannabinoids on its own.

It also has two receptors for cannabinoids, called the CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, but many are in the brain.

The CB1 receptors in the brain deal with coordination and movement, pain, emotions, and mood, thinking, appetite, and memories, and other functions.

THC attaches to these receptors.

CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain.

Researchers once believed that CBD attached to these CB2 receptors, but it now appears that CBD does not attach directly to either receptor.

Instead, it seems to direct the body to use more of its own cannabinoids.

Can CBD or qiwis get me high?

CBD is not psychoactive, meaning you cannot get high from CBD or CBD products. Lower quality products have questionable purity, and while they still should contain very low amounts of THC, they can have a mild psychoactive effect and cause individuals to fail drug tests. We make sure our qiwis contain close to no THC at all, so you can use them in any scenario without concerns of becoming "high" or failing drug tests.

Can CBD cause me to fail a drug test?

In order to be legally sold in the United States, products derived from CBD must contain less than 0.3% THC. We make sure our product meets those standards, and this allows us to say qiwis will not cause you to fail a drug test.

Lower quality products may have questionable purity, so it is best to err on the side of caution and only order CBD products from reputable sellers.

Are there any side effects to using CBD?

CBD has only been shown to have very mild side effects in tincture/oil form that usually stem from the oil solution used. CBD from smokable items has not been shown to have any side effects. As more research is done, this FAQ will be updated to reflect any new information that is discovered.

Are there any studies on CBD?

Thousands of scientific studies have been carried out specifically on CBD. Project CBD is a non-profit organization strictly dedicated to documenting the research progress on this incredible drug.

Are there any extra chemicals or additives in qiwis?

qiwis are proudly pesticide-free, additive-free, and 100% natural and organic. Our cigarettes are made with exclusively 100% cbd-rich hemp buds.
